"This is NOT a Christian facility. These people are NOT here to help someone , they are in it for the money!
My husband volunteered to go to this facility. They told him they are not going to feed him. He has to provide his own food. They knew he didn't have any money until the 1st and told him he couldn't get help with food until Sunday or Monday. Today is Thursday. He wen... Read More

Sharon, your husband was told all the parameters of the program prior to coming. He knew that he would have to buy his own food and he said that "I'm okay with that, my wife will take care of getting me food until the 1st". your husband has never called the office to request food.
The "entry fee" is to cover our costs before, during and after your loved ones arrival that would not otherwise be covered by the weekly fee, that we sometimes get and all to often do not receive at all. Like the 17 phone calls to and from facility staff and he himself before he came to us. Not to mention the hour that we spoke to you. Remember that we had to remind you that, based on your requests, we are here to help him, not punish him.
We have opened our home (program) to your husband and he was made aware of everything required of him before he entered.
The weekly fees we charge that you wondered what they could be for are for mortgage payments, insurance, electricity, water, gas, yard upkeep, office supplies, fuel to do all these things and pick up peoples family members at various locations when they are not able to or do not desire to themselves.
Just a reminder that we do not prepare meals for residents, but we do provide a fully functioning kitchen for the residents to prepare food that they have purchased. Sunday and Monday are the two set food bank days, but are not the only way to get residents food. Your loved one will need to take the step of making the phone call to the office to make this need known. That question is addressed on our entry paperwork and he did NOT request food on this paperwork.
